How Middle School English at Brightfox works

Your student can take a free diagnostic exam to assess their current level and identify strengths and gaps, helping us create a more accurate and personalized program from the start.

At Brightfox, you buy a package of tutoring credits you can use on any service — test prep, subject tutoring, college counseling — and apply to any sibling. Four-year expiration, nothing goes to waste.

Choose the format that works best for your family. Come into our San Ramon center, go fully online, or mix both. We have a 7 pm night-before cancellation policy so unexpected schedule changes are never a problem.

Scheduling at Brightfox is simple and flexible. Choose the subject and all available time slots appear. Book the same slot each week or change it up. Sessions are one hour on weeknights and one and a half hours on weekends.

When booking a session, you can choose to share what you'd like your student to focus on — whether that's specific topics, a chapter you're stuck on, or uploaded files like worksheets or assignments.

Brightfox uses a 2:1 student-to-teacher ratio — the instructor alternates between two students, giving each genuine 1:1 instruction. In between, you practice independently, reinforcing what was just taught.

Brightfox offers two main ways for students to get extra practice outside of tutoring sessions: guided homework help during sessions where instructors walk through problems, and chapter test preparation to ensure students feel confident going into exams.

After every session our instructors send a summary note texted to you instantly. Log into the parent portal any time to see topic-by-topic progress — no need to ask your student what happened.
